Participate

Web browsers & operating systems wants as much data as possible. Helping out is extremely easy. All you need to do is to add a 1 pixel transparent GIF image to your website and you're then participating in this effort. As a thank you your webpage will be linked on the "Participating websites" page if you want to.

What data is being sent?

Web browsers & operating systems has no interest in finding out who your web sites' visitors are. When the transparent pixel is loaded the following data is being recorded at our server:

Time: The server time when this visitor was recorded.
IP: The IP address of the visitor in order to not count this visitor more than once.
User agent string: The user agent string sent by the web browser in order to gather information about the operating system and web browser.
Referring site: The URL of the referring web site (your website). This is to make it appear on the "Participating websites" page. If you do not wish to have a link back to your website then the referring site is not sent to our server.

When will my link appear?

Links are added to the "Participating websites" manually in order to keep bad links from showing up, so please allow up to 48 hours for your link to appear. It may take only a few minutes if you're lucky ;)

Do you link back to all types of sites?

No. I will not link back to adult, gambling, "male enhancement" or hate sites. Otherwise a wide spread of website niches that gather data is encouraged to get a good sample of internet usage.

For how long will my link stay up?

For as long as you keep sending data from your website.
